I love the plugin - it works great for me except that I run my bbpress in "name-based" permalinks and the posts the plugin creates can't be linked to from the bbpress main page.

I dug into the code and found that the plugin needs to add to the bb_ database a value in "topic_slug" - this is what bbpress uses to create the permalink. This is the same as the value you send to "topic_title" except space have to be removed and "-" character put in ("your-first-topic").

I'm not skilled enough in string operations to do this - is this something that could be done for the plugin? I may try to hack it myself, but it maybe be a useful fix for other people running bbpress with name-based permalinks.

I am having problems with the plugin in Wordpress 2.3. When I activate it in the Plugins panel, the announcement bar at the top says that it has been activated, but the plugin does not activate, and the plugin row does not highlight or show any sign of being activated. Any help you could give out be great, I could really use this plugin on my site, thanks.

I agree with papadoc that it's important to have an option of copying only the post titles from the blog rather than entire posts. Copying the posts created duplicate content which google hates.

It would be nice to have an ability to move some comments from the blog to the relevant topic in the forum. When blog discussions stray from the topic, I'd move the offending comments to the forum. Say, put a checkbox near each comments at the Comments section of wp-admin to be able to move many comments at a time.
When some comments are moved, a link should appear below the blog post, "More comments at the forum."

Can you please consider these additions?

I really happy to present a new version of WAQ. Now you can reset your score, if you registered user. If user is not register, then login link and (if permitted) register link shown.

For WAQ TOP you must insert that code into your sidebar:

Hi there.

In 3-4 days i will present you a new version of WAQ plugin. Now you can reset your score, for not-registered users plugin will display a link to register (if your blog allow register), and you have a widget for widget-ready themes, where you can watch out a scores of top 5 or 10 users.

If you have any product you want to share, it nice to create your own product box (my box for bbpress post you can see in sidebar). You should view that project if you really want to make your product best. And if you like it, please digg it :).

It's fantastic. Have just downloaded it and have been receiving positive feedback from my users.
Here's some useful feedback-
a) Can the score appear below "one more" link, the plate where user has an option to leave the quiz or continue....
b) I also think, users should have an option to reset the score if they want to improve their score...
c) Can it be displayed, somewhere on the quiz page, "log in to activate scoring", this message disappears once user logs in
d) Is there a way to display "top scorers" on a page or may be in the sidebar widget
e) And, can simultaneously run more than one quizzes be run

Great plugin - it does (almost) exactly what I need. A couple of requests though;

1) When you're adding a manual link with <? bbpress_manual_link("forums"); ?> - it would be good to specify a default link, if there's no topic created (I have a lot of imported posts which have no topic) - something like;

<? bbpress_manual_link("forums", "/forums/"); ?>

2) A count of the replies (which was in 0.0.4), when you're inserting a manual link;
<? bbpress_manual_link("forums", "/forums/", 1); ?>
would return a link like [a href=/forums/]forums[/a] (4 replies)

Great work though - I look forward to the next version!

WAQ is truly fantastic and the best part of it is its simplicity.
Would look forward to the scoring feature.
Meanwhile would like to give you another feedback:
I've noticed that some of the questions are repeated even before the query inventory is exhausted, can you please look into it?
Also wondering if it's possible to run more than one quiz simultaneously!

I really like WAQ for it's simplicity and effectiveness. I've been looking for a something like WAQ for a long.
Wondering if you're planning to add some sort of scoring system to this! And if this is possible to make it restricted to registered users and if scores could be scored, at least top scorer?

After a long delay!

Now I add compatibility with WP 2.3. And I make manual discuss link calling. It's look like

<? bbpress_manual_link("Your link text", $post_ID); ?>

for any calling type and

<? bbpress_manual_link("Your link text"); ?>

in the Loop.

I test it on WP 2.3 and BP 0.8.3. Plug-in works correctly only on 2.3 and up. For older versions you must download version 0.04.

Make possible creating topics in categories identical WP categories.

I love the plugin, but would like it if ONLY the post name came across to the forum as a Thread heading (with maybe some generic "Talk here about this post" text to start it off). I am anticipating long posts on my website, and would like only the title on the forum...

This sounds like something that should be easy but I don't know how to do it!

The plugin is working perfectly on my site, I would like to know about an addition and to see if anyone else would find it useful.

When I publish a post in Wordpress, I choose a category, I would like bbpress_post to recognize the category and place the post into a preselected forum category on the bbPress installation.

So say I have ten categories, one of them is APPLE, I have previously edited an admin screen check off / config file or the plugin itself to indicate that all APPLE wordpress catagories get put into bbPress Apple forum cataegory.

Is this doable?

Edit: Okay, I was wrong. It does work for private forums, but it doesn't seem to work with the Disclose-Secret plugin which I am using to protect some posts from public viewing. Any ideas?

Posts I make to my blog until today showed up thanks to the bbpress post plugin on my forums (it's been great, thank you!).

Now, though, they're posting to the forums as before but closed from the outset so nobody can comment on them.

If I click on 'close topic' it changes to 'open topic' but remains closed. Click it again, it goes back to 'close topic' and, again, stays closed.

Does anyone have a fix I can try please, please? This plugin saves so much time and is so useful. For now I'm having to manually copy over blog entries to the forums.

I'd greatly appreciate an option to configure this in the plugin itself. Meanwhile, I managed to do it myself, I edited bbpress_post.php and edited line 455:

bbpress_bb_new_post($topic_id, $content, $forum, $author, $now);

with

bbpress_bb_new_post($topic_id, $contenido, $forum, $author, $now);

and previously I defined $contenido as:

'<font size=4>Comente el artículo:<br>'.$title.'</font>'

But as I have two sites with bbpost integrated with one bbpress instalation, I had to custom edit both plugins with the domain name hehehe. Well I'm a crappy coder I must admit.

When plugin activate, it creates two new tables for options and list of post, which added to forums. In your case it not happens. Check for your MySQL user can add new tables in db.

I apologize if this isn't the right channel to ask for this but: how difficult would it be to make a bbpost plugin which doesn't post the whole article as a first post, but instead just a "Use this topic to comment the article (title and link)"???

For some odd reason, the plugin is working fine... but on one blog the "discuss in forum" link and the comments topic appear after a few minutes while in the other one it's instantaneous.
